Unlike most of the other books in the Hebrew Bible, this book is set not in Israel, but in a pagan Empire where God’s people have been taken captive. Daniel will help us see God for who He really is, not who we’ve made Him out to be. We’ll learn that the power to make a difference in a chaotic world is found in the commitment to be different.
